Annual Living History Event with Friends of Cedar Mountain Battlefield

On the anniversary of the Battle of Cedar Mountain in 1862, Friends of Cedar Mountain Battlefield is hosting their annual commemoration and living history program on the weekend of August 7 & 8! With a whole weekend chock-full of activities that are fun for all ages, no fan of Culpeper history can miss this one.

Highlights include:

  • Combined arms demonstration (infantry and artillery) with the option to participate in a School of the Soldier

  • Kid’s tent featuring a hands-on history trunk provided by the American Battlefield Trust

  • Wet plate photography demonstrations with nationally recognized photographer Robert Szabo

  • Exhibits to explore the encampments

  • A guided battlefield tour, as well as a Special Access Twilight Tour for American Battlefield Trust members
